Environ is proud to release Part Two of Defected Records’ Look Right Through remix package in North America and Japan. Art Department, one of the Resident Advisor’s Top 10 DJ acts of 2011, deliver a trademark pitched-down, bass-driven vocal rework. The legendary Marc “MK” Kinchen does what he does best and turns in the “Don’t Talk To Me Dub,” with chopped, looped vocals and a vocal mix that slows the pace but is instantly recognizable as his own. Two distinctively different takes on one of 2010’s biggest vinyl releases.
The limited-edition vinyl of Storm Queen “It Goes On” is sold out of our online shop (restock soon!) but can be found in all fine record stores starting today! To mark the occasion, Storm Queen (Morgan Geist) has concocted a few charts at his favorite shops: Juno Records,Juno Download,Traxsource and What People Play. Check them out!
Morgan Geist’s project STORM QUEEN project marks a return to his roots with an analog approach towards modern house music with a disco pedigree. The newest release It Goes On features the vocal talent of Damon C. Scott and is the perfect follow up to Storm Queen’s debut of 2010, “Look Right Through,” an underground hit featured in countless radio and club DJ sets and charts. Enjoy the music and thank you for your support.

We are proud to announce the return of Kelley Polar to the Environ catalog for his first release of original material since 2008ʼs critically-acclaimed I Need You to Hold On While the Sky Is Falling. Recorded in Walden-esque seclusion somewhere off the beaten path in New Hampshire, this two-track release was mixed with Morgan Geist and features vocals from Jeremy Greenspan of the Junior Boys on the title track and a love-torn duet with Finnish songstress Emilia Lagk on the flip. This release is available exclusively on iTunes Music Store until 10/18/11, when it will be available at all digital retailers.
Looking for an enthusiastic, smart and responsible intern for Environ, the record label of Metro Area, Storm Queen/Morgan Geist, Kelley Polar, Daniel Wang and others.
Primary duties will be organization of label newsletters and release promotion including blogs, print, DJ pool and social networking outlets. Must be organized, able to complete tasks in a timely manner, and able to multitask and prioritize. Knowledge of grammar, spelling and a general attention to detail is a must. You should have interest or skills in Web-related everything (social media, HTML, FTP) and a willingness to help us improve our online presence and connect with listeners. Some design experience (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and basic audio editing experience is a plus, but not necessary.
While proximity to NYC would widen the range of your experience, long-distance and international applications are welcome. This is officially an unpaid internship but you will receive Environ goodies, guest-list/backstage access when available and other perks, plus we typically provide a small stipend during busy times (new releases, store sales) or based on performance. We are happy to work with your university to arrange internship credit. If interested, email your resume and a short note introducing yourself to contact (at) environrecords (dot) com.

The results are stunning to say the least: “Look Right Through” is pure analog warmth. Bumping bass lines, pristine pads, and a sublime vocal make this a true house aficionado’s dream, and both house and techno DJ’s will want to check the extended dub and its jacking vocal treatments.
The debut STORM QUEEN release, “Look Right Through,” features the vocal talents of Damon C. Scott. Scott and Geist met on the NYC subways where Scott performs.
STORM QUEEN physical releases will be limited-edition 12″s only.
