UPDATE: A Web site has been put up by Barry’s family at discobarry.com.

Barry Lederer (pictured above with Melba Moore) was found dead in his NYC apartment this past weekend.

I hadn’t spoken to Barry in a while and only emailed him last week after seeing a friend of his on the street. Barry was a very sweet man and I shall miss him very much. I’m indebted to Eli “Eli-173” Epstein for introducing us.

He was also a seminal figure in NYC’s rich disco history. Read more about him here.
