“Entropy Reigns” is the first single from Kelley Polar’s album I Need You to Hold On While the Sky Is Falling. Called “one of the best of the year so far” by Pitchfork and downloaded over 100,000 times during its week as a free Discovery Download on iTunes, we knew “Entropy Reigns” needed an incredible remix, so it was a simple decision to enlist Ewan Pearson and Al Usher (who also operate under the name Partial Arts) to work their magic. Not only did these two have a keen understanding of pop music, sweaty dancefloors and strings, but they were big fans of Kelley Polar, so they turned in two remixes instead of one: the more house- and tech-driven “Pearson and Usher’s Closed System Dub” and the more electro- and pop-fueled “Pearson and Usher’s Second Law Dynamix.” The 12″ is out today and available in our Store!
Much as we love vinyl, these remixes were so epic that we had to keep the bonus track for digital: an outstanding and innovative remix of “We Live in an Expanding Universe” from the mighty Caribou (formerly Manitoba). You can find the digital version of the EP (including the Caribou remix) on all digital music stores including iTunes.
